MSJ Named UMD Engineering Top 25 Source School

Mount Saint Joseph has been recognized by the University of Maryland as one of the A. James Clark School of Engineering’s Top 25 Source Schools for 2023. These schools represent top locations for in-state talent in the University of Maryland's undergraduate engineering programs. Mount Saint Joseph is the only private school to receive this recognition.

With challenging STEM-based course offerings such as Intro to Engineering and a variety of complementary extracurriculars such as the Environmental Engineering Club, ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) Mentoring Program, and the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Team, our students have every opportunity to expand their knowledge and put the engineering design method into action.

We also offer innovative, hands-on lab spaces like the Maker Space, equipped with state-of-the-art laser cutters and 3D printers, and the Build Lab, which houses $25,000 worth of power tools. These spaces and equipment are used throughout the year in a variety of courses and extracurricular activities, and they are also available for students to pursue personal projects outside of the classroom.

UMD's Clark School ranks 19 overall among more than 200 undergraduate engineering programs, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2023–24 Best Colleges rankings. Mount Saint Joseph is proud to have many graduates go on to pursue engineering degrees at the University of Maryland.
