Admissions Process

1. Visit

Be a Gael for a day! Visiting students will accompany a freshman or a friend of the visitor's choice through a full day of classes. Lunch is included in the day. Eighth grade and transfer students are welcome to visit in the fall, and seventh grade students are welcome to visit in the spring.

2. Take the High School Placement Test

  • All 8th graders must take this test.
  • December 7, 2019 (Check-in 8:30 a.m.)
  • Designate Mount Saint Joseph as a school that should receive your scores.
  • The test fee is $40.
  • Online registration is required.

3. Apply for Admission

  • Students from Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore must complete the MSJ Application for Admission as well as the Archdiocesan recommendation form, which will be provided by their school in December.
  • Students from public and non-Catholic private schools must complete the MSJ Application for Admission and submit the Records Release Form to their current school.
  • There is a $50 application fee for new students.
  • Applications, recommendations, and transcripts are due December 20, 2019.
  • Decisions will be sent on February 20, 2020.

4. Apply for Financial Aid

  • Everyone who applied for admission by December 20, 2019 will be eligible for scholarship consideration, but the financial aid application is separate.
  • Mount Saint Joseph only requires 2018 tax information. If you receive an email stating that your application is incomplete due to missing 2019 forms, please disregard it.
  • Apply for financial aid through FACTS
  • Decisions will be sent February 20, 2020.

5. Interview

  • Applicants who listed Mount Saint Joseph as their first or second choice will be contacted by mail with a day and time for a personal interview.
  • Any applicant listing MSJ as 3rd choice must contact the Admissions Office to request an interview.
