About The Mount

Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore, affectionately known as "The Mount," is a renowned all-boys Catholic institution with a proud legacy of academic, athletic, and spiritual excellence. Since its founding in 1876 by the Xaverian Brothers, the school has upheld a tradition of providing a holistic education that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit of its students.  The campus, consisting of six buildings on a 33-acre site in the southwestern area of the city, has become a beloved fixture in the Baltimore community, where it is known for its strong sense of camaraderie, tradition, and values-driven approach to education.

The school's strong academic program is reflected in its impressive statistics, with a high graduation rate and a significant percentage of graduates going on to attend top colleges and universities across the country.  Last year, over 93% of the students sitting for AP exams scored a 3 or higher.  Mount Saint Joseph's commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by its faculty, many of whom hold advanced degrees and are dedicated to ensuring student success.

In addition to academics, Mount Saint Joseph High School is known for its competitive sports programs. The school boasts a strong tradition of athletic excellence, with teams in sports such as basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and wrestling, consistently performing well at the state level.

As a Xaverian Brothers-sponsored Catholic school, Mount Saint Joseph High School places a strong emphasis on spiritual growth and service to others. The over-800-students participate in regular religious services, retreats, and service projects, helping them develop a strong sense of compassion, empathy, and social responsibility. The school's values-based education encourages students to live out the Xaverian Brothers' spirituality of humility, trust, zeal, compassion, and simplicity.
