Facilities Technician/Grounds & Landscaping Specialist

Full-Time, Hourly Position

POSITION SUMMARY
Mount Saint Joseph High School is seeking a dependable and versatile individual to support campus operations in the areas of facility maintenance and grounds/landscaping. This full-time, hourly position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilities Technician

Perform routine maintenance and repairs across campus buildings in the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility emergencies
Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance
Assist with setup and breakdown for school events and functions
Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supply inventory

Grounds & Landscaping

Maintain the appearance and safety of outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, parking lots, sidewalks, and athletic fields
Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, blowers, and snow removal tools
Perform seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, snow/ice management, and planting
Monitor grounds for hazards and assist with minor outdoor repairs or improvements

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required; trade certifications or vocational training preferred
Minimum of 2-3 years experience in maintenance, transportation, or groundskeeping
Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
Hands-on knowledge of facility systems and landscaping practices
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and on a team
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in all weather conditions

PAY
Hourly pay, up to $25 an hour, depending on experience

SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional evening/weekend hours depending on events or operational needs
