Mount Saint Joseph Welcomes New Athletic Trainer

Dr. Caroline Siebens will join Mount Saint Joseph Athletics as the new athletic trainer, beginning July 15, 2021. “We all share in enthusiastically welcoming our new athletic trainer, Dr. Caroline Siebens, to our Athletic Department team,” says Kraig Loovis ’92, Mount Saint Joseph Athletic Director. “Her years of experience working with teenage student athletes, her passion for the field of sports medicine, and her excitement about joining the Mount community make her an ideal fit for our school. I am confident that Caroline will provide the highest level of care for all of our MSJ student athletes.”

Siebens holds an undergraduate degree in athletic training from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Science in sport management from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a doctorate in athletic training from Temple University. She has most recently served as an athletic trainer and program coordinator for Towson Sports Medicine, as well as an adjunct professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Towson University. Additionally, she has served as chair for the Maryland Athletic Trainers’ Association Young Professionals’ Committee since August 2019 and holds a number of professional certifications.

“As a certified strength and conditioning specialist, certified functional movement specialist, and 200h certified yoga instructor, I feel I can play a valuable role in bridging the gap between strength and conditioning, injury prevention, and athletic training,” Siebens says.

For Siebens, the Mount Saint Joseph community and mission were key reasons she applied for and accepted the position. “When I interviewed, they emphasized that the mission at Mount Saint Joseph is to take good care of the boys. I am really excited to join the team and help do that,” she says.
