Facilities Department Technician/Bus Coordinator
Full-time, hourly paid position
As a member of the Facilities Department, the Technician/Bus Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and physical plant most of the time, and will oversee the bus fleet including scheduling, routes, route drivers, and maintenance.
On the job training is provided on MSJ standards, energy management system, school bus route planning, and other school bus responsibilities.
Position hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to include two 15-minute daily breaks and a nonpaid 30-minute daily lunch break. This is a full-time hourly paid position which includes benefits.
The following duties are typical for, but not limited to, this position:
- Installs, repairs, and maintains equipment, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, phone, public address, etc.
- Monitor and oversee HVAC energy management system.
- School bus fleet route planning, event scheduling, and tracking.
Hands-on working knowledge and experience in the safe operation of a variety of tools, machinery, and power equipment used in performing essential functions. Basic knowledge of building codes, construction, and architecture terminology. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to multitask, prioritize, problem solve, and efficiently complete all activities. Self-motivator, ability to set and meet goals, and a desire to excel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic proficiency with MS Windows PCs and MS-Office Programs is preferred
