Volleyball - Varsity

Coach Matthew Schmidt ’08 has been a member of the Gaels’ coaching staff since 2012 and a member of the faculty since 2017. Before becoming varsity head coach, he served 10 years as JV head coach, leading the team to the MIAA JV Championship in 2021. Since its start, MSJ volleyball has made postseason appearances each year, including winning the MIAA “A” Conference Championship in 2006, 2022, and 2023. Coach Schmidt and his experienced coaching staff are skilled at developing young athletes who are often new to the sport into highly competitive volleyball players. The Gaels have finished in the top four every season since 2015, including several first place finishes.
