SAT School Day at MSJ

In March 2019, Mount Saint Joseph will no longer be a host site for a Saturday administration of the College Board’s Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), and instead will offer any junior at MSJ the option to take the SAT at school on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.  At MSJ, we have decided to add the option for our juniors to take the SAT on a school day so that more of our students can gain the benefit of taking the SAT in a familiar academic setting.

Juniors who elect to take the SAT on Wednesday, March 27 will not be required to attend any classes that day; juniors who do not opt for the test will still have a regular day of school along with the rest of the student population.  The SAT administration will begin at 8:00 am, the normal start time for classes.  Students have the option to take the SAT without the essay or the SAT with the essay.  Students should confer with their counselors and research the recommendations made by specific colleges to which they may be interested in applying to determine which SAT to take.
Students who take the SAT without the essay will be finished with testing at approximately 12:00 noon and will be able to get lunch in the cafeteria afterwards.  Students selecting the essay option will be finished at about 1:00 p.m.; the cafeteria will extend dining hours for these students, but only grab-and-go items will be available for purchase.  Students who are approved by the College Board for 50% extended time will finish the exam without the essay at approximately 12:30 p.m. and shortly before 2:00 p.m. with the essay.  Students who are approved for 100% extended time will take the exam over two days and finish testing during the morning hours of Thursday, March 28.  Mrs. Kate Chapman, Director of Special Programs, coordinates the documentation and testing administration for all students with College Board-approved accommodations.

Register below for the SAT at Mount Saint Joseph on Wednesday, March 27, beginning at 8:00 a.m.  Please note that this in-school process does NOT require any student to use his College Board account and sign up at any College Board website.  The cost for the SAT without the essay is $47.50.  The cost for the SAT with the essay is $64.50.  Registration extends through Sunday, January 13.  No registrations can be accepted after January 13.
