Due to inclement weather, Mount Saint Joseph is closed today, November 15, 2018. Staff should report by 9:00 a.m.
Parent/teacher conferences are canceled for today as well. We ask that you email teachers with whom you had conferences scheduled a preferred phone number where you can best be reached, or to indicate that an email exchange would suffice, or to indicate that you would like to try to re-schedule an in-person conference at some point in the next two weeks. Teachers will follow up today and tomorrow with phone calls and emails for remote conferencing and re-scheduling.
Bequests (Br. Nilus Cullen, C.F.X. Legacy Society)
Bequests are a simple way to support Mount Saint Joseph and to help provide for its future. Bequests to the Mount may be unrestricted or designated for a particular purpose.
The Brother Nilus Cullen, C.F.X. Legacy Society
Brother Nilus Cullen, C.F.X., a graduate of the Class of 1931 and teacher at the Mount during the 1930s and '40s, not only contributed years of service to his alma mater, but also shaped what it means to be a Mount man. A pioneer of the Xaverian Brothers' missionary effort in Bolivia, Brother Nilus died there on November 14, 1995.
In naming its planned gift society after Brother Nilus, the Mount hopes to honor the life of an alumnus and Xaverian Brother who was dedicated to service in the name of God.
An increasing number of alumni, parents and friends are setting up special contributions to Mount Saint Joseph High School through deferred giving arrangements. These arrangements include different types of trusts, life insurance gifts and bequests. Deferred gifts are very popular because they can provide guaranteed life income to the donor while still providing the Mount with a significant gift. In response to this growing popularity, the Mount set up a special gift society to honor these donors.
