Computer Science

Overview

The Computer Science Department provides opportunities for students to explore several programming languages and applied technology from basic coding and robotics to Advanced Placement Java. Most freshmen take our Computer Applications and Information Technology course which introduces them to programs they will use throughout their time at Mount Saint Joseph and beyond. In addition to learning to use the Microsoft Office 365 suite, students learn about basic computer and drone programming, cybersecurity, digital citizenship, and Internet safety.

Highlight: CyberPatriot

Paul Kellermann, Department Chair

CyberPatriot is a national competition hosted by Northrop Grumman and the Air Force Association. It focuses on finding vulnerabilities in Windows and Linux computer systems, and completing Cisco networking challenges.

Mount Saint Joseph High School

Mount Saint Joseph is a Catholic, college preparatory school for young men sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers.
