Summer Reading 2010 

All students are required to complete their summer reading assignments.  Books and study guides must be completed before the return to school.  Assignments are as follows:

Incoming Freshmen

• Honors Freshman English (210): You will be contacted by your teacher regarding your summer reading assignment.
• College Prep Freshman English (211): The Moon is Down by John Steinbeck
• Ryken Freshman English (212): Your summer reading will be handled in your summer English class sessions.

 Incoming Sophomores 

• Honors American Literature (220):  THERE IS A VOCABULARY LIST THAT MUST BE COMPLETED NO MATTER WHICH NOVEL YOU CHOOSE.  You have the choice of ONE of the following novels:
  • Maus I and II by Art Spiegleman (two texts)
  • Little Big Man by Thomas Berger
  • Peace Like a River by Leif Enger
  • The Children Bob Moses Led by William Heath 
    
• College Prep Sophomores (221): Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

 Incoming Juniors

• Honors British Literature (229 and 230): 
  Brother James: The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde
  Mr. Perzinski:The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde
• College Prep American Literature (231): THERE IS A VOCABULARY LIST THAT MUST BE COMPLETED NO MATTER WHICH NOVEL YOU CHOOSE.   You have the choice of ONE of the following novels

Incoming Seniors

• AP Literature and Composition (250): Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
• AP Language and Composition (260): You will receive a letter from your instructor.
• Honors World Literature (240): A Separate Peace by John Knowles
• College Prep World Literature (241): A Separate Peace by John Knowles
• College Prep British Literature (235): The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde
