Congratulations to the following Varsity rugby players who were recently named to the 2011 Potomac Rugby Union (PRU) All-Met Team.  In the first five years of the program, the team had only had one player make it on to the ALL-PRU Team.   This year, the team has six honorees. Below are the student’s names along with the position for which they have been recognized:

Nick Mastracci ’11 - Prop
Andrew Schatz ’11 - Second Row
Uriah Cunningham ’12 - Flanker
Eric Sweeney ’11 - Scrumhalf
Matt Clash ’11 - Center
John Schuberth ’11 - Wing

Many of the votes were garnered at the games against Hyde and Gonzaga.  Even though the game against Gonzaga wasn't a win for the Gaels, the efforts of those who made the ALL-PRU Team obviously impressed the other coaches enough to earn these players this recognition.

The Potomac Rugby Union, or the PRU, is the governing body for all rugby in northern Virginia, DC, Maryland, and parts of Pennsylvania. PRU is responsible for competitions at all levels, all star teams, assisting clubs with admin matters, running coaching and player clinics, and disciplinary matters.
